AMMAN-The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) on Tuesday launched the National Goodwill Campaign employment and training programme in the free zones, in the presence of HRH Princess Basma, president of the campaign′s higher committee.

In partnership with the Jordan Free Zones Investors Commission (JFZIC), JOHUD′s programme will assist young Jordanians in finding jobs by training them to become productive and capable of giving back to their communities.

The programme entails setting up a private fund to provide 50 per cent of the trainees salaries, while their employers will pay the remaining 50 per cent.

The salaries will be agreed on at a later stage, provided they are not below the minimum wage.

Through its employment office that was recently opened in Zarqa Governorate, in cooperation with the JFZIC at its headquarters in Zarqa, JOHUD will help job seekers finding work at various institutions in the free zones.

During the launch of the programme, Princess Basma said these initiatives embody the spirit of solidarity among the people of the community and the role of the private sector in providing jobs for the unemployed, expressing her appreciation of the JFZIC.

She asserted the goodwill campaign′s commitment to cooperate with the various entities and build partnerships with them to assist all Jordanians and the underprivileged in finding jobs.

JFZIC President Nabil Rumman said the initiative is a continuation of previous cooperation between the two sides, adding that the commission will work to increase its cooperation with the campaign and support its programmes to help it realise its developmental goals.
